Baseline-

For this strand, I feel that I am more at the beginning stages. I have been a part of learning communities within my district (mentor program (1st- 3rd year of teaching), 1st year special education  meetings, and the Autism project). However, most of these communities were during my first years of teaching. I also think they were set up differently than what our learning community is. I am excited to learn this way and can't wait to see the benefits of it.

Growth (updated April 2012)

For this strand, I feel that I have learned an incredible amount of valuable information. Within our LC, I have learned so much on how to develop a community within my classroom. I feel that this is a great asset to my teaching. I have learned about morning meetings, team building activities, energizers, and building trust with your students. By practicing these ideas during our weekends and being able to share ideas has been of great value. I have also been a member of a PLC within my school. I think having this time set aside to meet as a department has been very productive. We have been able to stay more connected and on top of students more effectively. I feel that this strand has been of great value to me.
